1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Alive Reader ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Alive Reader provides EPUB reading, translation, and AI-generated audiobook services. The Service is available via mobile applications and web interfaces.

3. User Accounts

You may use the Service anonymously with limited features (up to 3 book uploads). Full features require signing in with Apple, Google, or email. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of EPUB files you upload. By uploading content, you represent that you have the right to do so. You grant Alive Reader a limited license to process your content for the purpose of providing the Service (reading, translation, audio generation).

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Upload DRM-protected content that you do not have permission to process
• Use the Service to infringe on intellectual property rights
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service

6. Payments and Refunds

Translation costs $0.99 per book per language. Audiobook generation costs $3.99 per book. All sales are final. Refund requests may be made within 7 days of purchase by contacting support.

Payments are processed by Stripe (web), Apple (iOS), or Google (Android). Each platform's own terms apply to their respective payment processing.

7. Intellectual Property

The Alive Reader service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Alive Reader. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without permission.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that translations will be perfectly accurate or that generated audio will be free of artifacts. AI-generated content may contain errors.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alive Reader shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of [jurisdiction to be determined].
